"When nothing is right, go left"
I felt really insprired a few days ago... aka very bored. SO I decided to go find my old washable paints and go crazy. I thought it would end up being a huge mess of nothing but I was proud of the result so I decided I would set up my tripod and take some pictures.

Post Toronto Trip (very late)

So I got back from Toronto a couple weeks ago and have been very busy since (sorry for being so late). It was an amazing trip, complete 360 from the last one we were on. I realized while I was up there that that is truly where I want to be living in my post high school years. The east coast is beautiful! I think my favorite part about it is that it isn't flat like the mid-west. My favorite part about Canada though was that all of the animals were really friendly because the people there don't try to scare them away or shoot at them like here. Okay maybe that wasn't my favorite part but I did think it was funny being the animal lover that I am. My favorite part was probably that the exchange rate allowed us to save money showing up there. It was awesome.

Toronto Trip 2: Day 1

Today was a long day of travel. All we did for about 10 hours was wait for airport staff and board planes. We decided that we would take the cheapest flight and fly into Buffalo, NY with a layover in between and it would be totally fine. Alright it was ok but that's because I like airports, but jeeze did we spend enough time in them to last me, well, a week because that  is when we return. I learned today especially that when on planes head phones are a girls best friends be aide you can't control the loud person sitting behind you that won't shut up. Also, that water and yawning are great place riding things. the dinner stop for today was a cafe called Spot in Buffalo, NY which I highly recommend if ever in the area. I am excited for the rest of our travels and to see what adventures unfold this week!

I'm trying to become vegan. And it. Is. Hard.

"Eating for me is how you proclaim your beliefs three times a day. That is why all religions have rules about eating. Three times a day I remind myself that I value life and do not want to cause pain to or kill other living beings. That is why I eat the way I do." -Natalie Portman
I am one 100% in this for the long run. But let me tell you it's the most difficult thing I have ever done. There are so many things that you wouldn't think of that include or are animal products. Like honey! You don't think when you're putting it in your tea that this is an animal byproduct. But yep, it is. And Hint of Lime Tostios chips, what! Those were my favorite! It's insane how much our community thinks it needs to rely on animal commodity in everything. But there are also many things that are vegan options that may be surprising. One of which is boxed pasta, the most important food in my opinion. Pasta is the most versitile yet satisfying food on this planet!(also a personal opinion) You can add anything to it and it will taste amayzing. Also vegan diets are becoming more popular overall so businesses are creating options that are more worth while than another salad with oil and vinegar. You can go to almost any restaurant and get something that will be vegan. I know this is a little cliche but it really does make you feel so much better. I have so much more energy now! It's like when you put glasses on and everything is suddenly vibrant and clear.  But, the main reason I am choosing to do this type of life style is because I don't believe that anything should have to die for my own selfish cravings when I know I can live perfectly fine without it. And I know that one person won't change an entire industry but asking as I am able to reduce my global footprint that's all that matters. The power of one. And with that I say that I will keep fighting this up hill battle and getting through the obsticles best as I can.

Pre- Toronto Trip

"One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things" -Henry Miller
To Do:

  1. Make to-do list
  2. Do laundry
  3. Pack
  4. Camera stuff (this for most people could be added into packing, I am not most people)
  5. Buy whatever I don't already have
  6. Probably buy a journal. Who knows what internet access will be like...
  7. Remember everything including when the plane leaves
This will be my second time going to Toronto for college visits and I am so excited. My first trip was last october and the only phrase that can describe that trip is "train wreck". Everything that could have possibly gone wrong did. We started out this trip from hell with a missed flight and too much time spent in the airport. Number seven makes sense now, right?  Word of advise: it is very crucial to know exactly when you're leaving unless you're the sort of person that likes paying extra money and spending extra hours in an airport sitting when you could be doing something with your life. Belive me, not nearly as fun as it sounds. Through out the trip over half of the people got sick and the back seat of our rental car turned into the rotating thrown to whoever felt the most indisposed. Because of the doomed state everyone was in we had to spend the maority of our trip in out hotel rooms and only toured one college and saw the out side of another, kinda. We had to stop that early due to illness, again, and because we forgot to check the gas the entire trip and barely made it to a station by the skin on our teath. Either way the trip was a complete and utter mess. This is why we are having another try at it. Hopefully with more luck and less time waiting for people to stop puking. And this time we get to do more tourist things! The best part of any trip is trying to do the tourist things while trying to not look like a touist and failing at it without knowing it (or maybe you do know it). Everyone is guilty of it, don't lie to yourself. The thing I am most excited for is seeing Niagra Falls for the first time EVER... Im hoping that while we are there I can get a few good pictures of what we see to share, land marks are by a long shot my favorite things to shoot... well maybe animals are but you understand..  I'm going to go camera crazy. I'll try to do posts and things while I'm away but don't hold that against me there are reasons I dont make promisses. But no matter what I will to a post afterwards to do an overall recap of the trip so stay tuned.

Until then, do something worth talking about.

I have become an endurance junky, and I'm loving it.

" Because when you stop and look around this life is pretty amazing."
I'm not sure exactly when it happended but sometime recently I went from liking exercising, to loving exercising. I'm not sure quite yet if it's because I like the speed of it, the adrenaline rush, the idea that I can go far away and decide when to return, or if it's because I actually like pushing my body to previously unimaginable points. Or maybe, it's because I like the consistant changing of scenery from what I'm used to, but being able to say "I got here myself" not with some machine fueled on money and toxins. Maybe it's all of those reasons. No, it is all of those reasons. It's a new way of life, a healthy way of life. I couldn't imagine going back to my coach-potato-do-nothing-wait-for-the-next-TV-episode self, I would just get sad.. and bored. Not only do I love the activities but I also have fallen in love with the community. Obviously, you can't go anywhere without people that are going to be judgemental about something you're doing, but I have never met a group of people that are more willing to help you then in this one. It's here that, weither you're competing or just going out for enjoyment, the person next to you will encourage you to keep going or tell you you'e looking great, even if they have never met you. In these sports everyone understands the difficulties that you're going through and truly mean the words of optimism they are yelling. Because of this I am so thrilled that I have found my place in it and that my experiences moving forward will inspire me to become a better me in the future.
